Start with your requirements

A decision framework, not a scorecard

Atlan is a catalog and governance platform for data teams. A useful evaluation should validate catalog adoption, operating-model fit, deployment ownership, and the depth of governed authoring workflows against your own requirements.

This guide documents Qarion's current approach and gives your team questions to verify directly with each vendor. Packaging and capabilities change, so it deliberately avoids unsupported yes/no claims, deployment-time promises, and unverified price comparisons.

Compare the Evidence Behind the Capability

Use the final column as a due-diligence checklist for product sessions, security review, and commercial scoping.

Area Qarion approach Verify with Atlan
Operating model Connects catalog, quality, lineage, access, policy, issue, authoring, and review workflows in one control plane. Which teams own configuration, stewardship, approvals, and day-to-day administration?
AI governance Uses shared invocation paths with structured outputs, guardrails, attribution, budget controls, feedback, and AI Ops evidence. Where are prompts, provider calls, safety decisions, human reviews, and output evidence recorded?
Pipeline delivery Keeps planning, repository edits, validation, approvals, durable publication, and deployment artifacts in a version-bound workflow. Can generated or edited pipeline code be traced from intent through validation and deployment?
Change intelligence Brings lineage, ownership, quality, policies, repository context, and team decisions into impact analysis. What evidence is available before a change ships, and how does it stay attached afterward?
Deployment and integration Supports source-available deployment, typed APIs, SDK and CLI access, webhooks, an MCP server, and governed connector credentials. Which deployment models, identity controls, network boundaries, and integration surfaces are included in the evaluated package?
Commercial scope Scopes evaluation around the modules, operational controls, deployment model, and services the team actually needs. Which capabilities, environments, connectors, support levels, and implementation services are included in the quote?
