Data Dictionary

Data Domain
ArchitectureA logical grouping of data related to a specific business function or subject area (e.g., Marketing, Finance, Product).
Data Governance
CoreThe overall management of the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the data employed in an enterprise.
Data Lineage
QualityThe lifecycle that includes the data's origins and where it moves over time. It provides visibility into upstream dependencies and downstream consumers.
Data Mesh
ArchitectureA decentalized approach to data management that emphasizes domain ownership, treating data as a product rather than a centralized platform.
Data Product
ArchitectureA cohesive unit of data that is independently valuable, discoverable, accessible, trustworthy, and interoperable, treated as a product rather than just a technical asset.
Data Quality
QualityThe measure of the condition of data based on factors such as accuracy, completeness, consistency, reliability and whether it's up to date.
Data Steward
PeopleA role responsible for the management and oversight of an organization's data assets to help provide business users with high-quality data.

GDPR
ComplianceGeneral Data Protection Regulation. A regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy in the European Union and the European Economic Area.

Metadata
CoreData that provides information about other data. In Qarion, this includes structural metadata (schemas), descriptive metadata (definitions), and administrative metadata (access controls).

PII (Personally Identifiable Information)
PrivacyAny data that could potentially identify a specific individual. Any information that can be used to distinguish one person from another.

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
SecurityAn approach to restricting system access to authorized users based on their role within an organization.
