Qarion supports a rich, extensible system of data product types designed to catalog the full spectrum of AI, data, and content assets. Every asset in the catalog is a Data Product, and its type determines which specialized metadata, tabs, and workflows are available.
📄️ Data Infrastructure Types
Data infrastructure types represent traditional data warehouse, BI, and pipeline assets. These are the most common product types in Qarion, typically created automatically by connector syncs.
📄️ AI & Machine Learning Types
AI and ML types are designed for managing the full machine learning lifecycle — from model development through deployment and monitoring. These types unlock a specialized Model Details tab with AI-specific metadata.
📄️ Feature Store Types
Feature Store types support the ML feature engineering lifecycle — from feature definition and versioning to online/offline store synchronization and materialization tracking.
📄️ Media & Content Types
Media and content types are designed for managing rich, unstructured datasets used in computer vision, NLP, audio processing, 3D modeling, and content production. All media types share the File Metadata extension and unlock a dedicated metadata tab.
📄️ Prompt & GenAI Types
Prompt types support managed prompt engineering workflows for generative AI. Unlike other product type extensions that attach metadata at the product level, prompt metadata extends individual fields within a product — each field represents a distinct prompt.
